This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes the activities that are not permitted on Whostpress hosting services. By using our services, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violations may result in service suspension, termination, or legal action.

- Content that is illegal under the laws of your jurisdiction or ours, including but not limited to fraud, identity theft, money laundering, terrorism, or human trafficking
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind. We report violations immediately to relevant authorities, including INHOPE, NCMEC, and law enforcement

- Content that defames, harasses, threatens, or invades the privacy of others
- Stolen credentials, hacked databases, leaked personal information, or "doxxing" content
- Content promoting hate speech, violence against any group, or discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or nationality
- Adult content not in compliance with all applicable age-verification and legal requirements
- Cryptocurrency mining software or scripts running on shared hosting plans (see Resource Usage)
2. Illegal Activities
You may not use our services for any activity that is illegal under applicable law, including:
- Selling or distributing illegal goods or services
- Online gambling sites not licensed in the jurisdictions they operate in
- Pharmaceutical sales without proper licensing
- Pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing (MLM) fraud, or get-rich-quick scams
3. Security Violations
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Unauthorized access attempts, including port scanning, vulnerability scanning, or penetration testing of systems you do not own
- Denial-of-service (DoS or DDoS) attacks against any target
- Brute-force attacks against logins, including SSH, FTP, WordPress, or email accounts
- Network sniffing, packet capture, or interception of data not intended for you
- Hosting "command-and-control" infrastructure for botnets, malware, or surveillance tools
- Using our IP space to send unsolicited probes or scans
4. Email and Spam Policy
We have a zero-tolerance policy for spam:
- No unsolicited bulk email (UBE), unsolicited commercial email (UCE), or "spam"
- All marketing emails must comply with the CAN-SPAM Act (US), GDPR (EU), CASL (Canada), and your local regulations
- Recipients must have explicitly opted in to receive your messages
- Every marketing email must include a working unsubscribe link and your physical mailing address
- No use of purchased or scraped email lists
- No "joe-job" attacks (forging another party's email address)
- Your domain's DKIM and SPF records must be properly configured if you send mail from your hosting
- For bulk email volumes greater than 200 messages per hour, please use a dedicated transactional mail service (Postmark, SendGrid, AWS SES, Mailgun) rather than your shared hosting account
5. Fair Resource Usage
Shared hosting plans operate on shared infrastructure. To ensure performance for all customers, the following limits apply:
- CPU usage: Sustained usage above 25% of one CPU core for more than 90 seconds is considered excessive
- Memory: Sustained RAM usage above 1 GB per account on shared plans
- Concurrent processes: No more than 25 concurrent PHP/Python/Node.js processes per account
- File counts: No more than 250,000 inodes (files + folders) per account on shared plans
- Database queries: No queries that consistently exceed 10 seconds of execution time
- Cron jobs: No more frequent than every 15 minutes per cron task
- Backup storage: The included daily backups are for disaster recovery, not for archival storage. We may purge backups for accounts that exceed reasonable storage
If your account consistently exceeds these limits, we will contact you and may recommend an upgrade to a larger plan, VPS, or dedicated server.
6. Third-Party Rights
You may not use our services in any way that violates the rights of any third party. We respond to valid DMCA takedown notices and equivalent international processes. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.
To submit a DMCA notice, please email [email protected] with the required information.
7. Reporting Abuse
If you believe a Whostpress-hosted site is violating this AUP, please report it to:
- Abuse reports: [email protected]
- Phishing reports: [email protected] (subject: "PHISHING")
- Spam complaints: [email protected] (subject: "SPAM")
- DMCA notices: [email protected] (subject: "DMCA")
Please include the URL(s) in question, your contact information, and a description of the violation. We typically respond to abuse reports within 24 hours.
8. Enforcement
When we receive a credible report of an AUP violation, our typical process is:
- Investigate the report to confirm the violation
- Notify the account owner via email and provide a chance to remediate (usually 24-72 hours)
- Suspend the account if the violation is not remediated or is severe (immediate suspension for CSAM, active phishing, malware distribution, or court orders)
- Terminate the account for repeat offenses or unwillingness to remediate
- Report to authorities when required by law (CSAM, terrorism, court orders)
Whostpress does not refund prorated charges for accounts terminated for AUP violations.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active customers via email or via a notice in the customer dashboard. The current version of this AUP is always available at https://whostpress.com/aup.php.
